COVID-19 Lead Worker Representative Training
This course is designed to ensure that learners have the knowledge, skills and training to fulfil the role of lead worker representative in the workplace as outlined in the COVID-19 Return to Work Safely Protocol published on 9th May 2020.
It will assist the employer and employee in meeting their legal obligations under the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.
At the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Recognise the signs, symptoms and spread of COVID 19
- List the sources of public health advice in relation to COVID-19
- Understand the applicable legislation
- Describe the role of the lead worker representative
- Outline the procedures to be taken in the event of a suspected case of COVID-19 in the workplace including isolation areas, contact log and pre-return to work form
- List the controls measures for COVID-19 including social, distancing, signage, hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette
- Outline the significance of enhanced cleaning routines, workers’ responsibility in relation to cleaning work areas and the provision and safe use of PPE
- List the components of the employer’s response plan
- List the various sources of public health advice and the checklists that are available as an aid to compliance
- Discuss the role of the lead worker representative in relation to collaboration and communication in the fight against the spread of COVID-19
